The Alexandria Dental Journal is a peer-reviewed international journal offering the highest level of published data pertaining to the field of dental and craniofacial science and research. It is the official publication of the faculty of dentistry, Alexandria University. The aim of the journal is to provide a portal of entry to both basic and clinical research in the field of dentistry and to shed light on a broad base of readers on the most advanced aspects of the field. The journal publishes original scientific research as well as review articles covering all of the dental disciplines. Clinical case reports and series are also welcomed. By targeting basic researchers as well as clinicians both in the academic field and in the private sector; the journal intends to raise the standard of healthcare given to the patients and improve the quality of research. The journal employs an online system for manuscript submission and allows rapid online publication of all accepted papers immediately following the acceptance decision. An open access option is also available per author request. The journal is published three times a year in April, August, and December in separate issues. Special issues including abstracts from the biennial Alexandria International Dental Congress (AIDC) are also available. The Alexandria Dental Journal was established in 1976; previous issues from 1976-2010 are available in hard copy form at the Alexandria University Library.
